CyberSwarm has raised a $50 million Series A led by Falanga Invest Perton. The company was founded in 2017 and has been backed by Draper Associates since 2018.
It builds neuromorphic computing hardware on memristor technology, processing and storing information at the same time in the way a biological neuron does. That addresses directly the separation of memory and processing that conventional computing is built on.
The funds go into research and development, engineering hiring, industry partnerships and first deployments across automotive, aerospace, defence, healthcare and robotics.
“This Series A marks the beginning of the next phase for CyberSwarm and for neuromorphic computing itself,” Raneti says. He positions the technology as a new computational layer between traditional digital systems and quantum computing, for problems that neither handles efficiently, and is explicit that it is not a replacement for digital.
Jan Imrisek, chief executive of Falanga Invest Perton, says the investment was made on technical depth, original intellectual property and a long horizon, in a field he expects to become one of the defining technological directions of the next decade.
